Condor

Condor is a political thriller that follows Joe Turner, a young analyst working for a secret branch of the intelligence community. His job is to study patterns and potential threats, but his routine work suddenly turns into a real crisis when he discovers something that puts him in immediate danger. With little time to understand what is happening, he is forced to go on the run while trying to figure out who he can trust.

The series is set in a modern world of surveillance, covert operations, and shifting alliances. It focuses on paranoia, loyalty, and the cost of working inside systems built on secrecy. The tone is tense and fast-moving, but it also takes time to explore the emotional side of being caught in such a situation. Rather than relying only on action, it builds suspense through uncertainty and the constant feeling that nothing is as it seems.

I found Condor to be a moderately engaging spy thriller that leans heavily into the modern paranoia of surveillance and government conspiracies. Based on the classic story of a CIA analyst forced on the run after his entire office is assassinated, the show does a decent job of updating the premise for a 21st-century audience. I appreciated the high-stakes energy of the early episodes and the solid performances from the veteran supporting cast, which lend the series a sense of gravity and professional polish.

However, as the narrative progresses, I felt the show struggled to maintain its initial tension, occasionally falling into predictable genre tropes and inconsistent character logic. While the production quality is high, the plot sometimes stretches thin over the ten-episode format, leading to some pacing issues in the middle of the season. It is an entertaining enough watch if you are a fan of espionage dramas and can overlook some narrative convenience, but it lacks the tight, flawless execution found in top-tier thrillers. It works well as a weekend binge, though it might not stick with you for long.
